About West Bengal University of Technology

West Bengal University of Technology (WBUT)
Wbut is a public state university, funded initially by the Government of West Bengal. WBUT is recognised by the University Grants Commission (UGC). The university has 209 colleges and institutes affiliated to it spread throughout West Bengal.
These colleges focuses on improvement of technological education. Students not only from West Bengal but also from other states is eligible to get admitted under these colleges .Almost all the colleges under the affiliation of wbut ensures a suitable educational atmosphere, and besides academics, students can also involve themselves in several co-curricular activities. The college atmosphere is absolutely free of politics. The healthy atmosphere of the colleges, which includes good faculty ensures that the students can learn, grow and excel in their particular departments of specialization.

Now a days we see that the standard of west bengal state's private engineering colleges are falling.
There are lots of colleges here under WBUT. Some of them are very good, on the other hand large of them are just a showoff/Fake.
They have inadequate infrastructure , zero academics, more fees.
In many cases, WBUT students cannot trust their faculty members also. In few cases they don’t have any proper knowledge or there is a lack of communication skills.
Very poor placement records, though they claim 80-90% students are already placed in good IT/Core company’s.
Just look at the brochure of those colleges, is there any well-known MNC or IT/core company missing???It’s called trap book for catching and holding students.
As a result we cannot ensure that WBUT colleges turn out well trained engineers and we cannot guarantee that WBUT engineers will turn out to be good products.
Some Basic Problems:
1. The infrastructure of the college is not as per with AICTE norms.
2. There aren’t enough qualified teachers to take the classes.
3. There is a fake list of faculties who do not teach properly in the college.
4. Most of the classes are taken by visiting faculties.
5.The library does not have adequate books.
6.Absence of well equipped Laboratory.
